Kei Yoshino
Kei Yoshino is a London based set designer and stylist whose practice revolves around the fields of advertising, editorial and artistic genres. Her work forms an exploration between the compositional interplays that can occur between object’s and textures. A strong connection to her Japanese heritage is evident throughout her works as she balances minimalism and simplicity with a gentle playfulness. Her works form a bridge between art and commerce, a goal of mine. (Yoshino 2025)
What inspires me most about Yoshino’s styling is the sense of movement crafted through their sculptural arrangements. She employs the use of deliberate curves which form demanding lines through images, pulling the viewers eye through the composition. Her precarious staging of objects is also interesting; it creates a sense of discomfort and slight unease which I hope to emulate within my own works. This is particularly evident in their series Autumnal towers, photographed by Baker and Evans in 2018.
