Jean-Marie BINET

2018

Their compositions are chaotic by nature but the uniform, soft and minimal backgrounds give the images a more quiet, warm aesthetic.

This shoot’s style of quiet chaos is what I am aiming for in my own work.

Their use of fabric on the table adds texture and dimension. The slight variation in drapery and folds between the images adds a kind of subtle candidness to the photos.

The images all feel precarious yet curiously playful which is an interesting combination.

The fruit and veg have a sort of fragility about them coming from the organic form’s ability to decay. I may play on this meaning in my own works.
